About the "new allies"

The official synopsis is explicit that Spyro is far from home and must build alliances in a realm that's new to him — which strongly suggests the supporting cast will be original characters native to this realm, rather than the classic Dragon Realms crew. None have been named or shown in detail yet. The moment a companion is revealed (likely at the next trailer or showcase), this hub gets a page for them — watch the news feed.

What about Elora, Hunter, and other classic characters?

Not confirmed. Period. No returning character beyond Spyro and Sparx has been announced. You may find sites listing Elora, Hunter, Bianca, or the original game's worlds as if they're in A Realm Beyond — that's recycled content from older games presented as news, not information about this game. Given the stranded-in-a-new-realm story setup, classic cameos are possible but pure speculation today.

Spyro himself: what's changed

The short version: he's grown. Bigger frame, fuller wings (the in-story justification for free flight), and a bolder silhouette with mohawk-like dorsal spines. The redesign is detailed shot-by-shot on the Spyro page.
