Why a Microsoft-owned Spyro is on PS5 and Switch 2

Activision became part of Microsoft in 2023, and Microsoft has since shipped several Activision and first-party franchises multiplatform. A Realm Beyond follows that strategy: the reveal happened on an Xbox stage, but PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 were confirmed in the same breath. For players, the practical takeaway is simple — no platform exclusivity window has been announced anywhere.

Mini FAQ

Is it coming to the original Switch? No version for the original Switch has been announced — only Switch 2.

Is it on PS4 or Xbox One? Last-gen platforms are not listed. Given the Spring 2027 window, last-gen versions look unlikely, but we'll update if that changes.

Will it be on GeForce Now or other streaming services? Only Xbox Cloud is confirmed so far.
